He married Leatha Ann Jordan on 11 July 1884. He and Leatha Ann Carnahan appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Webster county, Kentucky, enumerated 16 July 1900, with one daughter and three sons.1 He died on 1 May 1939 in Broughton, Hamilton county, Illinois, at age 77.2 He was buried in Gholson Cem, Broughton, Hamilton county, Illinois.

     Hadica H. Carnahan was also known as Hadasah H. Carnahan. She was born on 11 January 1835 in Kentucky.1,2 She was the daughter of John Mason Carnahan and Elizabeth Ann Cardwell. She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Hopkins county, Kentucky, in the household of her parents, John Mason Carnahan and Elizabeth Ann Carnahan.3 Hadica H. Carnahan was also known as Haddassah Wood. She married Alfred D. Wood on 10 June 1855 in Hopkins county, Kentucky.4 She died on 13 August 1914 in Hopkins county, Kentucky, at age 79; age 79 years, 7 months, 2 days.2 She was buried on 14 August 1914 in Browder Cemetery, Madisonville, Hopkins county, Kentucky.2 Cause of death was dysentery, haemorrhage from bowel.2
