He was christened on 7 March 1590/91 in Dinton, Wiltshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Ludlow and Jane Pyle.2 He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford 16 Jun 1610, but was not awarded a degree.2 He was admitted to the Honourable Socity of the Inner Temple in 1612 in London, England.1,2 He married Mary Cogan, daughter of Philobert Cogan and Anne Marshall, circa 1623.2 He and Mary Ludlow sailed to Massachusetts on the ship Mary and John in May 1630.1 He was an Assistant and Deputy-Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and held similar offices in Connecticut.3 He in 1654 sailed to Virginia Colony to visit his brother, who had settled there, thence to Ireland, where he resided the rest of his life, serving as an adjudicator for property matters and Master in Chancery.1 He died in 1664 in Dublin, Ireland.1

     Sarah Ludlow was born circa 1643 in Fairfield, Fairfield county, Connecticut.1 She was the daughter of Roger Ludlow and Mary Cogan. She married Reverend Nathaniel Brewster, son of Francis Brewster and Lucy Jones, circa 1656.2 In 1663Sarah Brewster and Reverend Nathaniel Brewster relocated to America, first to Boston, and by 1665 Setauket, Brookhaven, New York, where Rev. Brewster became the first minister of the church there.3 She died after 24 October 1699 in Setauket, Suffolk county, New York.1
