     Jeremiah Vail was christened on 30 December 1649 in Salem, Essex county, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Jeremiah Vail.1 He 's first wife's identity is not known. Anna Hampton was married to Benjamin Moore from 1671 to circa 1687, so she was clearly not the mother of Jeremiah's children. He left a will on 2 January 1722/23 which was proved in the Court of Common Pleas, January 31, 1726/7 and said: In the name of God, Amen. I, JEREMIAH VAILL, of Southold, in Suffolk County, yeoman, being in health of body. My will is that my beloved wife Anna, shall have such part of my estate as the Law allows her. I leave to my son Thomas all my lands and meadows in the town of Southold and all my houses and buildings, and he is to pay to my eldest son, Jeremiah, €20. If he refuses to pay the same then my son Jeremiah is to have 20 acres of the point of my land lying next to Plumb Gutt. I leave all my goods and chattels to my four children, Jeremiah, Thomas, Mary Goldsmith and Martha Horton. I make my son Thomas and my son in law, John Goldsmith, executors.2 He died on 28 November 1726 in Oyster Pond Point, Suffolk county, New York, at age 76.1

     John Henry Vickers was born on 17 June 1858 in Calton Houses, Edensor, Derbyshire, England; registered December quarter 1858, Bakewell volume 7b page 501.1,2,3 He was the son of Charles Vickers and Dorothy Milward.1 He appeared on the 1861 English Census of Cotton Houses, Edensor, Derbyshire, England, in the household of Charles Vickers and Dorothy Vickers.1 He appeared on the 1871 English Census of Peak Terrace, Horwich, Lancashire, England, in the household of his parents, Charles Vickers and Dorothy Vickers.4 He married Ada Townsend on 9 August 1882 in St. Mary Magdalene church, Addiscombe, Surrey, England.5 He married Ann Gale on 30 May 1895 in St. Marks Presbyterian church, Greenwich, England.5 He was a manufacturer's agent in 1913.6 He died on 27 December 1938 in Normanhurst, 160 Longlands Road, Sidcup, Kent, England, at age 80.5,7 Cause of death was coronary thrombosis.5 His estate, valued at £25,887 4s. 8d. was probated on 11 March 1939 in London, England.7

     William Edwin Vickers was born on 2 December 1842 in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England; 4th Quarter 1842 GRO index Bakewell vol 19 page 327.1,2,3 He was the son of Charles Vickers and Dorothy Milward.1 He was a apprentice draper in 1861 in Newchurch, Lancashire, England.4 He married Augusta Burdett between July 1869 and September 1869 in Lancashire, England.2 He was a warehouseman in 1871.5 In 1871 William Edwin Vickers and Augusta Vickers lived in Carlton Villa, Crosted Road, Dulwich, Surrey, England.5 He and Augusta Vickers appeared on the census of 1881 in Sidcup Station Road, Foots Cray, Kent, England, as boarders in the home of William T. Summers.6 He died on 12 December 1907 in Sidcup, Kent, England, at age 65; 4th Quarter GRO index, Dartford, vol 2a page 309.2,3 His estate, valued at £15,771 16s. 8d. was probated on 23 January 1908 in London, England, administration to Augusta Vickers, widow, and George Hanson Hoyle warehouseman.7
